Dear Friends!

I am so excited to be a Co-Captain and participant in Running For Youth’s Marathon Team again this year! This is our 3rd year running strong, and together, this amazing team will raise more than $100,000 to help students in need experience a lifetime gift that can change their lives and that they can keep with them forever.

The opportunity to travel broadened my knowledge of people and the world around me at an early age. Travel changed my life, and offered me a career and possibilities that I didn’t even know existed for me. Having grown up in a difficult family environment with minimal financial resources, I found hope for a bright future filled with so much possibility once I raised money for and took my first “big trip” away from home. Now, the opportunity to give back to kids that need help is a way for all of us to share our gifts with the next generation. As a Trustee for SYTA’s Youth Foundation, I’ve read hundreds of ROADS SCHOLAR applications – these are kids challenged by very difficult and seemingly impossible situations. The kids are recommended by their parents and teachers as students that are deserving both academically and as social leaders, but they lack the means to be able to travel with their peers and learn about people and the world outside the classroom. I’ve had the privilege to meet some of these kids and see first hand how much these experiences mean to them, and that will keep me Running For Youth for as long as I can!

Thank you for supporting me and the Running For Youth Team. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of young people – one step at a time! Each of us has committed to raising $3500 again this year – If you can help us with a donation, we would so appreciate it!

Training to run stronger than before,

Ellen :)
