Help Support Ellen Lurz
I am so excited to join the SYTA Youth Foundation's Inaugural Marathon Team! The SYTA Youth Foundation's purpose is to provide academic scholarships and financial support to students that do not have the means to experience learning outside the classroom on educational trips.
Each member of our Marathon Team has committed to raise $3500 in an effort to give more young people the opportunity to travel, grow and learn more about our country and the world we all share. I took my first motor coach trip as a student in college, traveling throughout Europe for 30 days. It was an education I will never forget, making me really appreciate, for the first time, all the freedoms and conveniences I was so fortunate to enjoy here in the United States. I was able to communicate and make friends with people that spoke differently, wore different clothes, ate different foods, listened to different music, and had different beliefs. It was such an eye-opening experience—an experience that ultimately lead me to a wonderful career in the travel/hospitality industry. As a committed supporter of our youth and the SYTA Youth Foundation, I believe in doing what I can to help students discover the "classroom" that exists throughout our country and our world.
On Sunday, July 25th, I will be running my 10th marathon in San Francisco with our Team. Running these marathons and participating in other events to raise money to support charities that have touched my life has made crossing each finish line an extra special experience. I am proud to be a part of this SYTA Youth Foundation Team and ask that you please donate whatever you can to help me reach beyond my goal. One donation at a time, one mile at a time, I know we will make it together!
Thanks so much!
Ellen
